Questions to Ask
During the interview process, questions will be asked of you, and you will also need to ask questions of your interviewer. Here are some common questions potential employers will ask of you:
  1. Why did you leave your
    last job?

  2. What are your strengths?

  3. What are your weaknesses?

  4. What is your management/ work style?

  5. What are your future
    career plans?

  6. Why are you interested
    in our company?

  7. How did you get along with your last manager?

  8. How would your peers, subordinates, or last manager describe you?

  9. What are your salary
    requirements?

  10. Tell me about yourself.

At the end of the interview, there is usually a point where the potential employer will ask you if you have any questions for them. This is a great opportunity to engage in a conversation with the interviewer and delve deeper into the requirements of the position or the company you are interviewing for. Here are some great questions you can ask:
  1. What specific skills/experience are you looking for?

  2. What are the challenges this position presents over the next year?

  3. In six months how will you know that you have hired the right person?

  4. What kinds of things are going well in the department
    right now?

  5. What are the specific responsibilities/goals of
    this position?

  6. How is performance evaluated?

  7. How would you describe a "typical day" in this position?

  8. What is it like to work here?

  9. What do you enjoy most about your job? Least?

  10. How long have you been with the company?

Practicing your answers helps to reinforce memory (without obvious memorization) while also allowing you to work on fine-tuning responses. Have a friend act the role of the interviewer and ask the questions. If that's not possible, at least spend some time going over them yourself. Try to critique your responses from the point of view of an employer.
