Interview Tips
Preparation
You can best prepare for job interviews by anticipating interview questions,
researching the employer, developing interview response outlines, and
practicing your responses. In all your preparation, always remember that a job
interview is a sales call; you have to actively sell yourself to the employer
from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
Researching the employer is vital. In the job interview, and within the context
of most of your answers to interview questions (see "Questions to Ask" section
for sample questions), you'll want to showcase your knowledge of the employer
and relate yourself to the company. You must expect the "what can you tell me
about our company" question -- and you must be able to provide a detailed
response. Some key information you should try to locate includes brochures,
annual reports, or the corporate
web site.
Other key things to do before any job interview is to review your resume and
print a few copies to take with you. It is important that you go into an
interview upbeat and really believe you are on top of the world - a positive
attitude will help you get
the job.
